Dr. Keyur A. Chavda


Bariatric Surgeon


Dr. Keyur Chavda attended medical school at B. J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India, his home country. After medical school, he completed his general surgery residency at the same college and continued to practice general surgery in India for three years. After moving to the United States, Dr. Chavda completed a five-year surgical residency at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, as well as a one-year fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. He performs laparoscopic and open gastric bypass, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and gastric band, and revisional bariatric surgery, as well as many other bariatric, advanced laparoscopic, robotic, and general surgeries with great expertise and care. Dr. Chavda has published and presented many articles, videos, and book chapters, is a master surgeon in metabolic and bariatric surgery as designated by the SRC, and is board certified by the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

Cathy Fox helps patients, families and caregivers maneuver through the weight loss journey and overcome any care hurdles. Cathy provides information that enhances the patient’s ability to make appropriate health care choices, along with understanding risks, benefits and responsibilities. Throughout the process, she offers personalized assistance as well as nutritional education and resources. As a registered and Florida-licensed dietitian, Cathy works with each patient to help them understand the nutritional needs that will help them accomplish their desired weight loss goals. She individualizes diet plans, so each patient understands their nutritional needs and assists her patients with lifestyle challenges to help them attain lasting results.

Cathy provides knowledgeable support, compassion and encouragement, and is with the patient throughout the whole process. After having gastric bypass surgery in 2002, she has maintained a successful outcome which means that she understands patients’ trials and tribulations and will assist with moving you forward in your pursuit of a healthier life.
