    Our Pre-Operative Total Joint Replacement Class will give you the helpful information you need for before, during and after joint replacement surgery, including:

    • How to prepare for surgery - find out more about pre-operative testing, your primary care physician visit, what items to bring with you to the hospital during your stay as well as pre-operative instructions and restrictions.
    • What to expect during your hospital stay - learn about your surgery, where you should check in on the day of surgery and what to expect before, during and after surgery at St. Anthony's Hospital.
    • How to prepare for discharge from the hospital – review discharge instructions and restrictions as well as home health care and physical therapy to help you with a successful recovery.

    After surgery, most patients walk within a couple of hours. With the help of our physical therapy teams, 99 percent of patients are walking within 24 hours of their surgery.
