Doctor Bio
Dr. Stephanie Mattathil received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Health in San Antonio, Texas and went on to complete her internal medicine residency there. She then completed her cardiovascular disease fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Following this, she did an advanced fellowship in heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, transplant cardiology and mechanical circulatory support at the University of California in San Francisco. She is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Mattathil's clinical interests include management of advanced heart failure, amyloid, sarcoid, hypertrophic cardiomyopathies, cardiac valve disease, coronary disease, arrythmias, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, pre and post cardiac transplant care, durable ventricular assist devices and pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Mattathil’s cutting-edge training and expertise in advanced heart failure therapies allow her to provide state-of-the art care for her patients, enabling them to lead high quality lives. Dr. Mattathil is part of BayCare Medical Group serving the Tampa, Florida area, where she sees patients age 18 and older. She is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, American College of Cardiology and The International Society of Heart & Lung Transplant and affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Morton Plant Hospital.
