Doctor Bio
- Sanjiv K. Sahoo, MD is board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology and electrodiagnostic medicine. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He served an internal medicine residency at the State University of New York, and a neurology residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. He pursued further training through an electromyography EMG fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center, and a clinical neurophysiology/epilepsy fellowship at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Dr. Sahoo has served as an attending Neurologist since 2004, and was recently appointed Assistant Professor of Neurology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). He has received awards and recognition from the National Epilepsy Foundation and VCU, lectured at regional neuroscience conferences and participated as an expert on forum panels at Minnesota and North Dakota Epilepsy Foundation events. He has published numerous articles on epilepsy and other neurological disorders. Dr. Sahoo specializes in epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, stroke and general neurology, and has extensive experience in EMG, EEG, and Clinical Neurophysiology. He is a member of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, American Academy of Neurology, and American Epilepsy Society. Dr. Sahoo is fluent in Hindi.
