Dr. Thomer is the commensurate professional with great knowledge of her specialty. She is extremely personable, highly empathetic, listens well and invites open dialogue of any and all topics. Having moved some 60 miles south of St. Pete, I started seeing a different Urologist however the difference in care I received made me understand that the two hour round trip commute (without Route 75 traffic) was more than worth it to be seen by Dr. Thomer.

Dr. Thomer was very thorough in explaining everything to me. She explained the procedure that she ws going to do very thoroughly.

This visit was a followup for a surgery Dr. Thomer recommended and that has profoundly improved my quality of life. Im forever grateful. Ive been to another urologist In the past -- there Is absolutely no comparison. BayCare is lucky to have Dr. Thomer, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have her as my doctor. My only regret Is that I didnt learn about her five or six years earlier than I did!

I see Dr Thomer, once a year, for a history of kidney stones. She is the only care provider I see at Baycare as I live in manatee county and it is almost an hour drive to see her. I find her to be very caring and attentive and takes her time with any questions I may have. Ive seen a lot of urologists in the past and she is by far my favorite! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend her to anyone and plan to continue seeing her for my kidney stone issues.

Dr Thomer is one of the best practitioners with Baycare. Baycare needs to go out of their way to recruit more practitioners like her. She is extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Her expertise is one that Baycare should be proud to have. The medical profession in Florida, compared to other areas Ive lived, is sub-par, however Dr Thomer is one of the exceptions and stands out as a true asset for Baycare. Bring in more Dr Thomers.

I have complete respect for Dr Thormer. I waited 4 months to get an appointment. She recommended Botox injections. That day the machine broke the office staff will not tell me where I am on the waiting list to get injections. Im frustrated being in limbo

Because of the holidays, the doctors appointments were slightly backed up. I understand that. What I didnt understand was the fact that my appointment time was double-booked. I learned later this was due to multiple calendars being in play, never a good idea. I wish my late wife had been a patient of Dr Thomers. She might still be alive today.

I cant say enough about what an excellent care provider Dr. Thomer is - very knowledgable, compassionate, good communicator, patient, and all the qualities one would hope to find (but doesnt always) in a urologist. I think Dr. Thomer is a very skilled physician and an excellent urologist. Unfortunately, I find her to be extremely abrupt, dismissive and condescending to a point that its very uncomfortable. When I attempt to raise a question or speak to something regarding my situation, she often times has an external reaction of annoyance that is inherently obvious. I feel as though when I see her, I should say nothing, ask nothing and definitely not infer anything medically because she has quickly dismissed me and is quick to make it known that Im not a medical professional. I have attempted to share or show her information regarding my medical status and several times she immediately dismisses me and has told me I dont need to see or know that, its not important. I dont necessarily enjoy having to see her, but I know shes a very skilled physician in her field and is highly regarded by her peers in her field. I have also found that she doesnt really know me as a patient and will state things about my medical history or care shes provided me in the form of a question. She has moments of a positive bed side manner but those moments can quickly turn into negative bed side moments that catch me off guard. Its unfortunate because I often times leave her office feeling bad about something Ive asked or said or tried to share with her based on her abrupt, dismissive or condescending reply or attitude.

I have recommended this practice to my primary care physician since its very unusual to find a female urologist.

I really like my physician. I believe the schedule that is made for her and the office is too heavy and requires lengthy wait times. This is difficult for a patient to plan around a work schedule.
