The APRN came into the room, briskly informed us that he had a fractured thumb, they would cast it and see us to remove it in four weeks. There was no semblance of a conversation about. When I asked how the APRN could be certain my son did not rupture his UCL as well as fracture his thumb, her answer was that shed been doing this for 11 years and had never seen it. That did not answer my question about HOW she knew. I did not want my 13 year old to be in a cast for 4 weeks only to find out he needed surgery because his thumb did not heal properly. When I asked again to explain to me her reasoning, she said she could refer him for an MRI if thats what I wanted. There was no additional imaging done to supplement the x-ray from urgent care. Also, when we came back from paying for the waterproof lining, the referral was sitting on the examination bed. The doctor never came back. Overall, given the option, I will not use baycare again for my children.

This appointment was a waste of time, blood work was done but questions were not answered appropriately and now I have to schedule yet another appointment to see the provider rather than the NP for the same Issue.
