Diane Rauch Camp Nurse Jr.

Welcome to the 2019 Diane Rauch Camp Nurse Jr.! We have changed the name of the camp this year in order to recognize a generous gift to this popular summer activity. 

One of BayCare’s nurses, Heather Pierce-Wheeler, and her father, were trying to think of something to do in honor of Heather’s mother, Diane Rauch, when she passed away. Diane Rauch was a dedicated pediatric nurse, and had a particular love of kids. A gift to Camp Nurse Jr. in her name seemed like a joyful way to celebrate Diane Rauch’s passions – her nursing profession and kids. 

The funds will help the Morton Plant Mease Foundation and camp organizers to expand the range of educational and recreational activities that make the camp so meaningful and memorable to young people who may be interested in pursuing a career in nursing.

This year’s camp will be held from Tuesday, July 23 through Thursday, July 25 on the Mease Dunedin Hospital campus. Applications will be accepted April 22-June 6. Campers must be rising 7th or 8th graders for Fall 2019.
