Coverage
Fellows serve as team physicians for several Pinellas County High Schools and as assistant team physicians at the University of South Florida and professional athletes in both Major and Minor League Baseball and the NFL. Endurance mass events coverage is substantial from 5K/10K races to IronMan Distance Triathlons.
Teams
USF Athletics
Fellows work with USF team physicians Drs. David Leffers, Charles Nofsinger, Eric Coris, Byron Moran and Dusty Narducci providing sideline coverage and conducting training room rounds.
Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, Clearwater Threshers and Philadelphia Union
Fellows work with team physicians Drs. Steve Mirabello, Aaron Mates, and Ted Farrar assisting with preparticipation physical evaluations, conducting game coverage and conducting training room rounds. The Toronto Blue Jays hold their spring training in Dunedin and their class A advanced minor league affiliate also plays in Dunedin. The Threshers are the Class A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Phillies. The Toronto Blue Jays have their Spring Training Headquarters in Dunedin, FL and the Phillies are just a couple of miles away in Clearwater. Major League Soccer team Philadelphia Union also holds its spring training in Clearwater.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Fellows will be integrated into portions of the medical care provided to these athletes.
Pinellas County High Schools
Fellows provide preparticipation physical evaluations and game and event coverage for several high schools.
Mass Events
St. Anthony's Triathlon
Fellows provide race day coverage under the supervision of medical director Dr. John Gross as long as this event does not conflict with the AMSSM Annual Meeting.
St. Leo University
Fellows will work with faculty members Dr. Kristin Terry conducting training room visits and event coverage.
Florida IronMan 70.3
Fellows will provide race day coverage with the medical director Dr. Farrar for this IronMan event in Haines City, FL, held in April.
