Didactic Curriculum

As physician leaders, fellows will drive the advancement of addiction medicine through ongoing research, education, and advocacy efforts. Fellows will engage in projects related to medical education or quality improvement within clinical practice, utilizing scientific methods to enhance care in the field of Addiction Medicine.
Fellows will have the equivalent of one half-day per week devoted to learning experiences, including didactic sessions, individual or small group tutoring/mentoring sessions and mentored self-directed learning.

  • Trauma and Substance Use Disorders - Mechanisms of Disease
  • Nonsubstance Addiction-Related Disorders
  • Infectious Diseases Common to Substance Use Disorders
  • Substance Use Disorders:  Treatment For Those in Safety Sensitive Positions
  • Best Practice Detoxification for Alcohol Use Disorders Outpatient and Inpatient
  • The Role of Peer Mentors in Warm Handoffs to Addiction Treatment
