BayCare Medical Group Welcomes Kannya Asokan, M.D.

Tampa, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2020) – Kannya Asokan, M.D., has joined BayCare Medical Group in the BayCare Health Center (New Tampa) at 17512 Dona Michelle Drive, Suite 5, Tampa. She is board certified in internal medicine. She accepts patients ages 18 years and older.

Dr. Asokan believes in building good relationships with her patients and managing their acute emergencies in an outpatient setting, such as patients presenting with dehydration, asthma and COPD complications. She works to identify patients at risk, who need inpatient evaluation and treatment.

For more than 10 years, Dr. Asokan has used her experience to treat young healthy adults and frail elderly patients with multiple co-morbidities. She is a good listener and strongly believes in empowering her patients to voice their concerns. She also understands that systematically providing a strong doctor-patient relationship ultimately improves her patients’ cooperation and trust in her.

Dr. Asokan earned her medical degree from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Dr. Asokan then completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania.
