St. Joseph’s Hospital-South Emergency Center has accomplished doctors, nurses and a highly-skilled clinical support team. It includes state-of-the art medical capability. Imaging and surgical services can be performed on-site for expedited assessment, diagnosis and treatment. The emergency room at St. Joseph’s Hospital-South also utilizes an intensive care unit and cardiac catheterization laboratory housed in the hospital.

Access to the emergency center is from the Simmons Loop entrance to the hospital. Simmons Loop is directly off the eastbound side of Big Bend Road.

Services Offered
- Private emergency rooms for each patient
- Modern bar code reading, medical records and electronic observation systems for precise, proficient and quick delivery of care and treatment
- Pediatric emergency care collaboration with pediatric specialists at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and transfer to St. Joseph’s Children’s if deemed necessary
- Seamless care of serious neurological, stroke or heart issues with capability of helicopter or ambulance transport to a BayCare Health System location that specializes in these problems
