St. Joseph's Children's- Spasticity Center
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
The St. Joseph's Children's Spasticity Center provides specialized evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for children with spasticity and other movement disorders related to neurological conditions. Located at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa, the center brings together a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists with advanced training in caring for children affected by conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, stroke, brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
The center's collaborative care model allows children to be evaluated by multiple specialists during a single visit, helping families receive coordinated recommendations and reducing the need for multiple appointments. The team includes pediatric neurosurgeons, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, physical therapists and nurse navigators who work together to develop individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, function and quality of life.
Treatment options may include nonsurgical therapies such as Botox injections, occupational therapy, physical therapy and serial casting, as well as advanced surgical interventions when needed, including orthopedic procedures, neurosurgery and baclofen pump management. By combining medical expertise with a team-based approach, the center helps children achieve the highest level of independence and daily function possible.
Conveniently located on the campus of St. Joseph's Children's Hospital on West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, the Spasticity Center serves families throughout the Tampa Bay region seeking comprehensive pediatric movement disorder and rehabilitation care in one coordinated setting.
