At Winter Haven Hospital, your child is a BayCare Kid. We provide compassionate, family-centered care for pediatric patients in emergency rooms specially for children. Services include:
- Board-certified physicians who have years of additional training in pediatric emergency medicine
- Child-sized care: Specialized tools and equipment in a range of sizes to treat even the smallest patient
- Pediatric advanced life support-certified nurses
- Child-friendly environment: We use drug-free methods of pain relief and, when possible, we perform procedures without needles. Our team is trained to talk to kids like they’re kids, so they feel safe and comforted, and are treated in private rooms.
- Specialized treatment areas: Pediatric trauma patients are cared for in child-focused rooms.
- ER waiting area: A dedicated pediatric waiting room for families of children being treated in the ER
- Specialized support and resources: These services cater to the unique medical needs of children and are combined with an extensive support system at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa. Pediatric specialists at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital are available for consultation on complex cases if necessary.
We can manage any emergency your child may have and, if necessary, we can arrange for immediate transportation to the St. Joseph's Children's Hospital Steinbrenner Children’s Emergency and Trauma Center.
