Susan Croushore is serving as the interim president of Winter Haven Hospital.
Susan has held 4 CEO healthcare positions, most recently as President and CEO Mercy Health System of Southeast Pennsylvania. She also led The Christ Hospital and Health Network based in Cincinnati, Ohio where she transformed the organization from a system member hospital into an independent health system with top decile performance across all quality, safety and experience measures. Susan has also served as the CEO of Jeanes Hospital/Temple University Health System in Philadelphia as well as the President of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lancaster, PA. She has extensive experience in both community hospital leadership as well as academic medical centers, including Hahnemann University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania.
She started her career as a Microbiologist and has a BS from Penn State University, MS from Thomas Jefferson University and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from LaSalle University.
Susan has served on a number of Boards, including the Ohio Hospital Association Board, American Heart Association Affiliate, United Way Board, and Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland - Cincinnati Division. Recently, she has been a member of the Gateway Health Plan Board, the American Hospital Association Policy Board, the Hospital Association of PA Board and HSX Board. She has served as the national chair of the Volunteer Oversight Group of the American Heart Association.
Susan has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the Top 25 Women in healthcare, as well as a finalist with Ernst & Young as Entrepreneur of the Year, the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Corporate Woman of the Year and the Hospital Association of PA Grassroots champion of the Year.
Currently, Susan serves on the boards of 3 health care startups as well as continuing her volunteer work with the Heart Association. She is also a volunteer with Give Back Global where she mentors and coaches healthcare executives in Africa as well as the USA.
