Doctor Bio
Dr. Zara Babayan is board certified in cardiovascular disease, with additional board certification in comprehensive echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular CT. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Yerevan State Medical University Mhitar Hereatsi in Yerevan, Armenia. She completed her internal medicine residency at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens in Flushing, New York. She was an associate cardiologist, key clinical faculty member of cardiovascular disease fellowship and director of cardiac CT at Guthrie Medical Group/Robert Packer Hospital before joining BayCare Medical Group.
Dr. Babayan holds a PhD in chronic disease epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Her clinical interests include valvular and structural heart disease, heart disease in women, preventive cardiology, CAD, CHF and applications of noninvasive imaging to diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of cardiovascular disease. She sees patients age 18 years and older and is affiliated with St. Joseph's Hospital.
