Dr. Yasmeen Hashimie is board certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine. She is part of BayCare Medical Group in Tampa, Florida, where she sees patients age 18 and older. She completed her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and then earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. Dr. Hashimie continued her medical education by completing an internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center/Texas A&M College of Medicine in Temple, Texas. Prior to the start of her fellowship, she completed a chief year in medicine with focus on quality improvement in healthcare and academic medicine.
Dr. Hashimie's clinical practice places an emphasis on patient and family centered care. She believes in whole-person healthcare and is passionate about patient advocacy and providing her patients with clinical research trial options. Dr. Hashimie is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American Medical Women’s Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association , and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She speaks Hindi and is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital.
