Tisha D. Van Pelt, MD

Dr. Tisha Van Pelt is not my primary care provider. She did not introduce herself or ask questions about my health or background before jumping into my current problem. She did not listen to my concerns with much care or make me feel comfortable or heard throughout the appointment. Her responses felt condescending and did not ease my concerns.

Nice lady.

This provider wont refill some of my medications because she doesnt believe in them. Referred me to a pain management specialist. I already did that and more and all was good with my previous provider. My expectation for a replacement from my previous provider would have been to get one that has similar practice methods. I came, I tried, I left disappointed.

Patient and understanding

I could not believe how cold and indifferent the provider was at our visit. I needed my sleep medication. I had been out for 2 weeks and havent been sleeping. I am a nurse and work 12-13 hr. Days. So sleep is very important to me. I need to be sharp at work. When I called for a prescription for my sleep medication I was told my provider was out on leave and wouldnt be back for 2 more months. Therefore I would need to see a different provider. I said that was fine, I just would like an appt. ASAP so I could get my sleep medication. They were not able to get me in for an appt. For another week. When I saw the provider, I could not believe how uncaring she was as a physician. She was very young and quite honestly probably doesnt have sleep issues yet. I am sorry to be so blunt, but it was so discouraging that this is where our health system is at this time. I work in the hospital and try to provide excellent health care to my patients. The doctor did not seem to care at all about me as a person; she seemed like she was annoyed I was there.

The doctor was attentive and helpful, except for ordering a prescription and telling me not to take it.

I was positive Covid , I had severe back injury, my mouth was burning, I had severe laryngitis and I was short of breath. The doctor listened to my lungs and got out of the room as quickly as possible she never looked in my mouth, she never examined my back she left the room quickly and returned with 5 referrals. 1 to an orthopedic surgeon and 1 to neurology surgeon and said let them figure out what to do with your back, she offered me new inhalers and I refused them since I had gotten thrush from them before. The following day I went to a walk in clinic and they gave me antibiotics for extreme swelling in my tonsils and the gave me nystatin for the thrush I did have, she never explained to me the laryngitis that was caused by Covid. She was abrupt and rushed she spent approximately 5 minutes with me

Felt the provider was a little rushed and not thorough enough going through my symptoms

My usual Care Providers were unavailable this day. I did not care for my care providers comments that she wasnt worried about my complaint and was very dismissive of my concerns. I do not wish to see this provider again.

Love her , her energy was uplifting

Doctor Van Pelt is an excellent doctor and she definitely knows how to listen to her patients and takes time to research and respond appropriately

Provider seemed rushed. She did a minimal exam for my shoulder pain. She already had referral for xray, PT & ortho in her pocket. She asked about a medication I was taking I told her I would send her a portal message about it. Oh, I dont do the portal. Very unfortunate, thats a very good way to communicate information.

Preventative care appointment was scheduled for 830 am (it was my first time at the office). Was brought back at 8 am to speak with provider, she told me I had to do a meet and great first then come back to do my wellness check. I explained I had taken time off work and no one told me this prior and I assumed I would be charged for this visit (my insurance only covered preventative)- she said she didnt have time to see me (even though my scheduled appointment did not start). The questions she asked during this time was very scripted and did not seem as though she cared also was none empathic to the situation. By far THE WORSE experience with a DR and will not be going back.

When she ordered the X-rays and RX treatment she said if it were me, I would take it. If it were me I wouldnt do it (X-rays) when I asked why she said because you dont need it. There was further conversation but to much to write. She was pleasant but I may have been her last appointment of the day, therefore time may have been a factor in her assessment and treatment. I have been a patient of BCMG for probably 20 years. This was my first experience like this. I dont like being negative about someone but I thought about other patients and how confused they might be.

Not impressed with Dr. Van Pelt. She was rude and condescending to me, my son, and even the nursing staff that was attending.

Wonderful very informative

Dr. Van Pelt is not my PCP. I was unable to see my PCP in a reasonable amount of time so accepted back up. I am having problems with rotator cuffs on both shoulders. Ive had x-rays and physical therapy. The next step is to see an orthopedist, which was the sole reason for the visit. I cannot sleep due to the pain. Dr. Van Pelt checked the right shoulder and said I probably needed a shot in the shoulder. She was supposed to provide a referral within a week. Its now almost 2 weeks and I havent heard from the office. I will be calling tomorrow. I am in extreme pain and every day counts. I will not accept another visit with Dr. Van Pelt.

Keep up the Great work

Dr Van Pelt went over my blood pressure and ordered a higher mg..this was a review for Dr Yeap. I had to draw Dr Van Pelt back into questions she seemed to be in a hurray for something else. So my pcp Dr Yeap I will see in July.

The first visit to this place was amazing. My previous Dr was amazing. I guess he left. This new Dr was awful. She dismissed my concerns about my health. Was pressuring me to switch my medication when I didnt ask for alternatives. I get it shes a Dr but also she does not know everything about every condition and its also condescending.
