I had the privilege of being treated by Dr. Small during a recent medical emergency. After arriving at the Emergency Room with severe abdominal pain and fever, I was diagnosed with a perforated colon that required immediate surgical intervention. Dr. Small truly came to the rescue!From the moment he stepped in, it was evident that he is an expert at his craft. His deep knowledge and calm demeanor immediately put both me and my family at ease during a very stressful time. He was excellent in communicating what I needed to know about my surgery and and the things I needed to do to help me heal afterwards. He told me what procedures he had to do to repair the internal damage and how long it would take to recover from the surgery. He is an excellent surgeon and an outstanding doctor. I am so glad that he had picked up my case when I was admitted to Mease Countryside Hospital. I would recommend him every time anyone else has need of a GI Surgeon.
