I was so impressed that I presented with shoulder pain and Tara suggested that I might be actually having radiating neck pain. The x-rays showed that she was right. A less thorough practitioner may have missed this.

When I told APRN Tara Bisland Ostrowsky about my symptoms (e.g., frequent urination, difficulty urinating, overall urinary discomfort) and concerns (that I work outside in environments with a lot of bacteria and felt that I had an UTI, as has happened in the past and I have a history of). I was told that the female anatomy doesnt work in such a way and environment alone would not cause a UTI. Then was told even inappropriate wiping (which I did not bring up and I use proper technique) would not cause a UTI except in extremely old populations. Repeatedly I explained that everything I was feeling fit a UTI and I was treated as though it had to be something else like dehydration. The provider then said that they didnt see anything in the urine sample in house and would have to it send out for a culture. I was not asked which lab the sample should be sent to so I thought the provider would use Quest labs where all my previous bloodwork and samples had been set to, but instead they sent it to an out of network lab and I ended up receiving a bill of $170.10 for a service that my insurance would completely cover if the sample was sent to an in-network lab. All of this could have been avoided by checking my records or asking me, but neither was done. In the end I did have a UTI and was able to start antibiotics 2 weeks after my symptoms began to be an issue and interfere with my daily life and work.
