    I cannot give Dr Khalil higher marks. I really believe that he treats me as a member of his family (or at least a good friend). He is low key and takes pains to explain any issue that I bring up.

    My whole meeting was 10 minutes or less. Asked how I was, listened to heart and lungs. Asked if I had any questions which I did. Thats when he got up and headed to the door. In passing he saw some of my written questions. He gave a brief answer as he was walking out the door.

    I never feel rushed when I meet with Dr. Khalil. Hes comprehensive and speaks in a manner thats easy for me to understand. I could easily see a cardiologist within minutes from my home in Manatee county (I used to live in Pinellas), but I prefer the 75-min drive because of the relationship that I have already established with Dr. Khalil.

    • Dr. Sherief Khalil is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He is part of BayCare Medical Group in New Port Richey, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry at Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Khalil then continued his medical education by completing an internship in general surgery. He went on to complete a three-year residency in internal medicine and completed his medical training with a three-year fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2015.

      Dr. Khalil treats various cardiac conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders (such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter), valvular heart disease, and heart failure. An accomplished author, Dr. Khalil has contributed numerous presentations to the Society of General Internal Medicine.
