Dr. Sanjay Menon is board certified in orthopedic surgery with additional training and certification in the surgical management of sports-related injuries. He specializes in the surgical treatment of hip, knee and shoulder disorders. He serves the St. Petersburg, Florida area as part of BayCare Medical Group, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He followed that up with an orthopedic surgery residency at Harbor-University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center in Torrence, California. Dr. Menon then completed an orthopedic surgery/sports medicine fellowship at Andrews Research and Education Institute in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Dr. Menon’s areas of expertise include advanced arthroscopy, primary joint replacement and tendon and ligament repair/reconstruction. He strongly emphasizes a comprehensive approach to musculoskeletal health and wellness. This includes a focus on applying nonsurgical techniques such as platelet-rich plasma therapy and autologous stem cell therapy, when applicable. Dr. Menon has served as a team physician for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Rowdies. He’s a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
