Rina Garcia is an advanced practice registered nurse and is with BayCare Medical Group in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she sees patients age 18 and older. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and earned a Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. Rina specializes in adult urology and has been educated and trained as a surgical first assistant in a wide range of general and gynecological procedures, from open to minimally invasive. She trained as a first assistant using the da Vinci® robotic surgical system and has more than eight years of experience working in the surgical department. She has worked in hospitals and surgical centers and as a community health care nurse, conducting health screenings and assessments, and developing and implementing community programs for the underserved, underinsured children and women’s populations. She coordinates her patients’ care with a multidisciplinary team and assesses any risk factors. Rina builds long-lasting, trusting relationships with her patients. She has been certified and maintains memberships with the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses and the American Urological Association.
