    • Dr. Rick Schmidt is board certified in general surgery and serves the Safety Harbor, Florida area as part of BayCare Medical Group, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He continued his medical education by completing a general surgery residency, and fellowships in endocrine surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Schmidt’s clinical interests include endocrine surgery of the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal gland, pancreas and thoracic surgery. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Endocrinology. He is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the American Society for Gastrointenstinal Endoscopy.
