    Really appreciated Dr.Honer and his nurses professionalism and empathy. I was a bit embarrassed to have my issue evaluated but they put me at ease. I appreciated how well Dr. Honer explained my diagnosis and what to expect.

    • Dr. Richard Honer is board certified in colon and rectal surgery and is part of BayCare Medical Group Gessler Clinic in Winter Haven, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois in Rockford, Illinois. He followed his medical education by completing a general surgery internship at Blodgett/St. Mary’s Hospital and a colon and rectal fellowship at Ferguson Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Honer’s specializes in endoscopy (EDG), anorectal disease, rectal prolapse repair, colonoscopies, inflammatory bowel disease, removal, and destruction of rectal hemorrhoids, anal/rectal pain and Medtronic sacral stimulation for fecal incontinence. He also treats Crohn’s disease and colitis. Dr. Honer is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgery.
