Dr. Mohamed Omer is a board-certified interventional cardiologist and is with BayCare Medical Group in Zephyrhills and Wesley Chapel, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned a medical degree from Assiut University School of Medicine in Assiut, Egypt. Dr. Omer completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri, and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. He held an academic appointment as an assistant professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota, and served as a consultant in the Mayo Clinic Department of Cardiovascular Medicine.
Dr. Omer specializes in evaluating and managing complex coronary artery disease, cardiac stress testing, echocardiography and catheter-based treatment of peripheral arterial disease. He builds strong long-term relationships with patients by listening carefully, understanding their individual goals and maintaining open communication. Dr. Omer emphasizes patient education to support healthier, more informed lives and offers guidance about healthier living. He’s affiliated with BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel.
