Dr. Mirela Onea is double board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine and is with BayCare Medical Group in Palm Harbor, Florida, where she sees patients age 18 and older. She earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila in Bucharest, Romania, completed an internal medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital in New Hyde Park, New York, and completed a gastroenterology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dr. Onea’s clinical interests include the prevention, diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal malignancies, diseases of the liver and pancreas, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease and irritable bowel syndrome. She has expertise in advanced therapeutic endoscopy, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic ultrasound. Dr. Onea has provided expert gastroenterology care in the Palm Harbor area for more than 15 years, with a strong commitment to compassionate, personalized care that helps patients live healthy, pain-free and active lives.
