Dr. Michael Rogers is board certified in surgery and specializes in cardiothoracic surgery, and is with BayCare Medical Group in Tampa, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky, completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, where he completed a two-year endowed research fellowship and served as administrative chief resident, and completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital/Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York.
Dr. Rogers has authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in journals including the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and Annals of Surgery and presented his work both nationally and internationally. He’s a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association. Dr. Rogers is affiliated with BayCare St. Joseph’s Hospital.
