Doctor Bio
Dr. Michael Franklin is board certified in neurology, electrodiagnostic medicine and headache medicine. He serves the St. Petersburg, Florida area as part of BayCare Medical Group, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He completed an undergraduate degree in chemistry from City University of New York, Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Franklin then furthered his medical education by completing an internal medicine internship and neurology residency from SUNY. Dr. Franklin then completed a neuromuscular diseases fellowship from Montefiore Medical Center in New York, New York.
Dr. Franklin has an extensive background in headache research, and is an accomplished author and presenter of peer related studies in neurology. His clinical interests include multiple sclerosis, dystonia and the study and treatment of migraines. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Examiners, a fellow of the Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine and a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Neurology, the American Headache Society, the National Headache Foundation and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He performs Botox injections for a variety of neurologic conditions. He is affiliated with St. Anthony's Hospital.
