Max W. Klein, MD

Dr. Max Klein is board certified in internal medicine and nuclear cardiology, specializing in general cardiology and is with BayCare Medical Group in Clearwater, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies, graduating with distinction from the university’s honors college. Dr. Klein earned a Doctor of Medicine from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he was elected by his peers to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed an internal medicine residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a cardiology fellowship at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, Virginia. 

Dr. Klein’s clinical interests include coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, valvular heart disease, heart failure, preventive cardiology and vascular medicine, using invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing, including transesophageal echocardiography, stress testing, cardiac computed tomography and diagnostic catheterization in the management of patients. He’s passionate about providing comprehensive, patient-centered cardiovascular care and is proud to be able to do it in the community where he grew up. Dr. Klein has advanced certifications for cardiac computed tomography and vascular ultrasonography. He’s a member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology and the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Klein is affiliated with Morton Plant Hospital.
