Dr. Mausam Mehta is board certified in family medicine and is with BayCare Medical Group in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she sees patients age 12 and older. She earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida, completed a family medicine residency at the University of South Florida/Morton Plant Mease Family Medicine Residency Program in Clearwater, Florida, and completed special training in integrative medicine through the online Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine program. Dr. Mehta has a passion for family medicine and treats a wide range of acute illnesses and chronic conditions, with special interests in lifestyle medicine, culinary medicine, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. She listens carefully, explains diagnoses clearly and ensures patients understand their care plan.
Dr. Mehta believes that collaboration, open communication and continuity of care with her patients are essential to delivering better care and achieving positive health outcomes. An accomplished author, she’s contributed numerous articles to peer-reviewed publications, including Nanotechnology and the Journal of the Endocrine Society.
Dr. Mehta has a special interest in teaching and has taught doctoring classes to medical students at the University of South Florida. She’s certified in advanced cardiovascular life support and basic life support. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. She’s fluent in Gujarati.
