    • Dr. Leah Shell specializes in family medicine and serves as a core faculty physician for the Florida State University College of Medicine/Winter Haven Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program at BayCare. She teaches resident physicians in the program, providing in-depth instruction in family medicine. During their residency, physicians train and provide care in Polk County. Dr. Shell received her undergraduate degree in biology from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. She then earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Shell continued her medical education by completing a family medicine residency at In His Image Family Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Shell enjoys a variety of settings in medicine and value developing relationships with patients and their families in a longitudinal manner. She practice’s whole person care and view patients’ physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of their health in a harmonious and integrated fashion. Dr. Shell has a passion to serve underserved and vulnerable populations. She is certified in neonatal advanced life support, pediatric advanced life support, advanced cardiac life support and basic life support. provides excellent care in all aspects of family medicine, with a specific concentration in obstetrics and women’s health. She also has a passion for community and global health. Dr. Shell is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. She is affiliated with Winter Haven Hospital.
