Dr. Laurie Letarte is board certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine and is with BayCare Medical Group in Tampa, Florida, where she sees patients age 18 and older. She earned a Doctor of Medicine from New York University School of Medicine in New York, New York, and completed an internal medicine residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in New York, New York. Dr. Letarte completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at Houston Methodist Hospital/DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Letarte's clinical interests include cardiomyopathies, heart failure, advanced heart failure, heart transplant, left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) and mechanical circulatory support. She’s a member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, the Heart Failure Society of America and the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Letarte is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital.
