Dr. Kurt Erickson is board certified in general surgery and serves the Clearwater, Florida area for BayCare Medical Group, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He completed an undergraduate degree in chemistry and political science from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Erickson continued his medical education by completing a general surgery residency at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital/University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
Dr. Erickson performs all aspects of general surgery including abdominal, breast, endocrine and laparoscopy. He is particularly interested in advanced laparoscopic procedures including cholecystectomy, inguinal, ventral, hiatal hernias, adrenal, spleen and benign and malignant colon disease. He has practiced at Morton Plant Hospital for over 20 years. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American Medical Association, the Southeastern Surgical Congress and the American College of Surgeons.
