Julie made sure I got on the correct medicine to take care of my spider bite

RNFP Julie arrived soon after the TECH left the room. Introduced herself wearing a mask and sat down in front of her computer. Asked questions as needed from her screens, clarified a cause of my DM, some insulin, answered question about my BP meds, and discovered the TECH had not asked or done a Throat culture screen sample. This then would extend the time I was at the clinic. Julie asked what pharmacy I used and I told her I use Optum RX for mail orders and use Publix or CVS for local home RXs. We discussed Immunization Pneumovax which cannot be given today as I have throat infection. We discussed annual comprehensive Lab Tests needed and I told her I use Quest Labs. Julie listened to my heart and lungs, examined my nose, neck, throat, ears, removed some wax. She will order the Labs, x rays-( I preferred Excel as they have my comparison films), and Antibiotics for sore throat as the results of throat test was positive. I will need to call the office 2 weeks in advance when I need refills of my routine BP meds.

Felt that I was treated as an age-group rather than an individual. Felt some of the medical complaints were dismissed after the medications raised a red flag in the ARNPs judgement. Seemed to not hear all my history. I felt judged. As noted, patients should be treated as individuals and assessed on current physical and mental status. Any potential concerns could be addressed at frequent visits to evaluate potential concerns and addressed once symptomology is exhibited if it does.

I needed clearance from my primary care physician for an upcoming surgery. Dr. Lastra, my primary care physician for the past nineteen years, was out of town attending to a family emergency. Ms. Taylor, ordinarily working for another physician in the building, stepped in and conducted an outstanding examination.
