Dr. José Canabal is board certified in internal medicine and is with BayCare Medical Group in Clearwater, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, earned a Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine in St. George, Grenada, and completed an internal medicine residency as chief resident at Zucker SOM at Hofstra/Northwell at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital in Forest Hills, New York.
Dr. Canabal provides comprehensive, personalized primary care and has particular interest in preventive medicine and lifestyle medicine to manage men’s health and chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. He shares decision-making with patients as the best way to help them achieve their health goals. Dr. Canabal is certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. He’s a member of the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Canabal speaks fluent Spanish.
