Dr. Jay Patel is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist and is with BayCare Medical Group in Tampa Bay, Florida, where he sees patients from birth throughout adulthood. Before joining BayCare Medical Group, he practiced at Pediatric Cardiology Associates. Dr. Patel earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia, and was nominated by his peers to join the Gold Humanism Honor Society for providing compassionate care. He performed a pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and completed fellowships in pediatric cardiology and pediatric and adult congenital interventional cardiology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta/Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Patel is involved in academic efforts to continue to move the field of interventional cardiology forward and has first-authored meaningful research in that field. He performs minimally invasive procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Dr. Patel is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and many other hospitals throughout Tampa Bay.
