Dr. Jason Colizzo is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine and is with BayCare Medical Group in New Port Richey, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, Florida, and completed an internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Colizzo treats swallowing disorders, reflux, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatitis, small bowel disorders and liver diseases, including cirrhosis. He served as assistant professor of medicine with the Digestive Diseases and Nutrition division at the University of South Florida while on staff at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. Dr. Colizzo instructed gastroenterology fellows and was recognized as teacher of the year during his time as adjunct faculty. He has published articles in peer-reviewed academic journals.
