Dr. Hector Velez-Camacho is board certified in neurology and serves the Tampa, Florida area as part of BayCare Medical Group, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Velez-Camacho continued his medical education by completing an internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami in Miami, Florida. He completed a clinical neurophysiology fellowship at New York University Medical Center in New York, New York. Dr. Velez-Camacho’s clinical interests include general neurology, epilepsy, headaches, memory problems and movement disorders. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society. He speaks fluent Spanish. He is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital-South.
