She received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, followed by a graduate degree in nursing, specializing as a family nurse practitioner, from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

      Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of common and complex health care problems, beginning in adulthood and continuing throughout the aging process.
