Before she even looked at my infection (which is what I urgently scheduled this appointment for and let them know when I scheduled it that I was in a lot of pain), she decided to go through all my medications, including medications Im no longer take and took years ago. This had already been done by the first nurse that came me in and I crossed off and added every medication change. The APRN questioned every medication they had in the database for the reason Im on it or quit it.When she got to my bipolar medications, I told her I took them because I have bipolar and thought that was where it would end, but no- she started asking if I experienced more mania or depression and asking symptoms. None of this was necessary to my appointment and I let her know I have a psychiatrist, but she kept pressing. She couldve just asked if I had bipolar 1 or 2, but I got the impression she wasnt educated about the condition to know the proper name. These questions were insulting, unnecessary, and again, had no relevance to the visit and Dr. Lim is already aware of my condition. Then, she said well you have ADHD too, right The way she said this was not even in a question way, but more of a statement/dig at me. Also, NONE of my medications overlap with ADHD nor had I mentioned it when I answered what all my medications were for. Again, this was insulting and unnecessary. This all happened within the first 5 minutes of us meeting. Also, it was clear she didnt understand bipolar as I had to explain that the reason Im looping in my psychiatrist as to what antibiotic Im going to be taking is because antibiotics can trigger mania and or interfere with mood stabilizers. She didnt care about this nor offer to coordinate care with my psychiatrist. When we finally get to why Im there, I told her about the infection that urgent care treated and how the Dr there gave me chemical burns. She goes onto press me about how I got the chemical burns and I again state it was the way the Dr treated it. She didnt believe me so asked me if it wasnt a scenario would I accidentally spilled x on myself or if chemicals didnt splash on me, etc. None of these scenarios even make sense as the burn is strictly inside my belly button so. Again I stated no. She also roughly examined my belly button where the skin was peeling, so it was very sensitive. I had ointment on it to keep it moist and help with the pain, and she removed a lot of it without explaining why or offering anything to put on after. After she removed the ointment, she didnt even examine it more or do anything, she just sat back down to go on her computer and didnt speak to me for awhile. Overall, this appointment is horrible and a bit traumatic. If I didnt already have a good relationship established with Dr. Lim, I would never come back to the practice again. Since I do though, I will strictly be seeing Dr. Lim.11/14/2025 | BayCare Verified PatientI have full confidence in Grace.11/12/2025 | BayCare Verified PatientGrace truly seems like she cares about you and what you are going through.10/8/2025 | BayCare Verified PatientThe nurse practitioner was very knowledgeable and share the knowledge with me.
