    Dr Murphy seemed rushed. Asked me a question while I was in the hospital and then dismissed my answer and walked out. His demeanor was even worse at the office visit. He didnt let me speak at all and address my concern as to why the test wasnt repeated when on the hospital if he thought it was just an echo then. At the office he was with me for less than a minute. I will not see Dr. Murphy again. Im seeing a doctor at Morton Plant now. I want a doctor that will listen to me and address my concerns.

    He said I should have a particular test done but didnt know when it could be scheduled. It was disappointing that he couldnt come up with another alternative treatment.

    • Dr. Eugene Murphy is board certified in general and vascular surgery. Dr. Murphy earned his Doctor of Medicine from Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He subsequently completed surgical residencies in Northern Ireland and at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New Hyde Park, New York. He then completed a vascular surgery fellowship at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. Dr. Murphy performs a full range of vascular surgeries to include both endovascular and open repair of abdominal and thoracic aneurysms, occlusive disease (revascularizations for peripheral vascular disease), carotid endarterectomies and vascular access for dialysis patients. Additionally, Dr. Murphy performs a full-range of general surgeries that include abdominal, Whipple procedure, gastric resection, cholecystectomies (both laparoscopic and open), appendectomies, colon and all types of hernia. His general surgery procedures include thyroid, debridement, breast, temporal artery biopsy muscle biopsy and sural nerve biopsies. Dr. Murphy is a member of the American Medical Association, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.
