Doctor Bio
Dr. Eugene DePasquale is board certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine and is with BayCare Medical Group in Tampa, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. DePasquale completed an internal medicine internship and residency, an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship and a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital/Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. His clinical interests and specialties include heart failure and transplantation, mechanical circulatory support including left ventricular assist devices, cardiomyopathies, cardiovascular disease genetics, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, and sports cardiology.
Dr. DePasquale’s research interests include noninvasive assessment of heart transplant graft injury and rejection, clinical outcomes of heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support and emerging therapies for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He has contributed numerous articles to peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of Heart Lung Transplant and the Journal of Cardiac Failure. Dr. DePasquale served on the guidelines for the International Society for Heart & Lung Transplantation Care for the Heart Transplant Recipient, as well as the guidelines for arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy developed by the Heart Rhythm Society. He served as a medical consultant for the United States Open Tennis Championships. Dr. DePasquale is a member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the American College of Cardiology. He’s affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital.
