Dr. Eduardo J. Perez is a triple board-certified physician in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and internal medicine, specializing in complex coronary and structural heart interventions. He’s an interventional cardiologist and structural heart specialist and is with BayCare Medical Group, where he sees patients age 18 and older. Dr. Perez earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. He completed fellowships in interventional cardiology at the University of Massachusetts Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, and structural heart disease at UConn Health Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut.
His clinical expertise includes high risk and complex percutaneous coronary interventions, such as Impella supported PCI and chronic total occlusion revascularization, as well as procedures guided by intravascular imaging, including IVUS and OCT, and transcatheter valve therapies. Dr. Perez served as co-director of the Structural Heart Program at Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in collaboration with UF Health Shands Hospital, where he led the expansion of advanced structural heart therapies. He’s a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, American Heart Association and American College of Physicians. Dr. Perez is affiliated with BayCare Winter Haven Hospital and BayCare Bartow Regional Medical Center.
