    • Dr. Derek Batson is a hospitalist with Morton Plant Hospital. He provides only inpatient care within a hospital setting and is not available for appointments. He will be responsible for you and your loved one’s care while in our hospital and will partner with your primary care physician on any necessary follow-up care to assist with your continued care, once you return to your home. Dr. Batson is board certified in internal medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology from West Virginia University and then earned his Doctor of Medicine from West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia. He continued his medical education by completing an internal medicine residency also at West Virginia University School of Medicine.
