Doctor Bio
Dr. Cedric Shorter is board certified in neurological surgery and is with BayCare Medical Group in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned a Doctor of Medicine and completed a neurosurgery residency at Louisiana State University-Shreveport in Shreveport, Louisiana, and completed a skull base/cerebrovascular fellowship at the Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine/Indiana School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Shorter practices general neurosurgery and treats a variety of spinal and brain conditions with a focus on complex cranial pathology. He uses innovative techniques to treat benign and malignant brain tumors, pituitary tumors and compressive nerve syndromes, such as trigeminal neuralgia. An accomplished author, Dr. Shorter has contributed numerous articles to peer-reviewed publications and has been an invited speaker and moderator at state and international neurosurgery society meetings. He’s a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Southern Neurosurgical Society, the Florida Neurosurgical Society, AANS/CNS Joint Section on Tumors and the North American Skull Base Society, where he has been appointed to the Surgical Stimulation Task Force and Surgical Education Committee. Dr. Shorter is affiliated with St. Anthony’s Hospital.
