Doctor Bio
Dr. Bosede Afolabi is board certified in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular diseases, with eligibility in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography and serves the Tampa, Florida area as part of BayCare Medical Group, where she sees patients age 18 and older. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. She continued her medical education by completing an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic-Florida in Weston, Florida. Dr. Afolabi also completed an electrophysiology fellowship from the University of Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Afolabi has made contributions to peer-reviewed publications. She is well experienced and has practiced in Pennsylvania, Leesburg, The Villages and Ocala Florida. Dr. Afolabi specializes in structural abnormalities and cardiac arrhythmia, which is an abnormality of the electrical signals of the heart. She performs both invasive & non-invasive procedures to help correct and support cardiac electrical activity, and to improve cardiac function. Dr. Afolabi also implants defibrillators and pacemakers, performs device extractions and complex ablations; and implants occlusion devices to minimize the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. She is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, American College of Cardiology and the American Medical Association. She is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital.
