Dr Yan is a most trusted and caring member of my medical team. He is irreplaceable.

He seems like a good doctor, he was just a little puzzled as to why I had been referred there. I did try to explain what was going on but he was somewhat dismissive of what I had to say, referring to my chart instead.

Dr. Yan is facts and numbers based. Which Is very Important but there was definetly a lack of bedside manner.

Dr Yan was dismissive of my concerns and questions. It was as if he was angry with me or felt I had no reason to be there like there is nothing wrong and I was wasting his time.

Excellent bedside manner but not so great in coordinating entire picture of patients medical condition, makes promises to reassure patient but does not come through. Very unsettling to sensitive to vulnerable patients.

Dr Yan is an important part of my health care team. He is informative offers me time in office visits and coordinates my health care succinctly and responsibly with other care givers both within BCMG and partners of BayCare not directly BCMG physicians. That is key to my total plan of care and outcomes. That is all really good.

I liked Dr. Yan from the first moment I met him. He was kind, respectful and direct. He didnt ask me about my jewelry or try to make jokes with me, as so many other young doctors stupidly do. I never felt that Dr. Yan was stooping to that level. He didnt need cheap gimmicks to show interest in his patients and its one of the things about him that makes me feel confident in him as a physician.

Dr. Yan was not the empathetic provider a medical oncologist should be. This was my first meeting with any healthcare provider in the oncology field after my cancer diagnosis, and at no point did he seem to feel any empathy or offer comforting words about my upcoming health treatment. He vouched for the most conservative approach to my treatment and provided the impression that the concerns we have our overblown for the stage my cancer is at.
