Dr. Baher AL-Abbasi is board certified in cardiovascular diseases, internal medicine, adult comprehensive echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac computed tomography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance, and is with BayCare Medical Group in Safety Harbor, Florida, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned a medical degree from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine in Baghdad, Iraq, and completed an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Miami/JFK Medical Center Palm Beach Regional Graduate Medical Education in Palm Beach, Florida.
Dr. AL-Abbasi has special interests in preventive cardiology, valvular heart disease, heart failure, coronary artery disease, cardiac arrythmia and using advanced, noninvasive cardiac imaging in the diagnosis, management and prognosis of cardiac diseases. He resolves diagnostic problems, manages severe long-term illnesses and helps patients who have multiple, complex chronic conditions. An accomplished author, Dr. AL-Abbasi has contributed numerous articles to peer-reviewed publications including the Journal of Cardiac Failure and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He’s a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, the American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association.
