Dr. Anthony P. Moreno is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon with BayCare Medical Group.. He has been in practice for over 20 years performing over 5,000 spinal surgeries from microsurgery to complex deformity reconstruction. He has served as professor at USF Department of Orthopedics and spine surgeon for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for over a decade. He has joined BayCare Medical Group at Mease Countryside Hospital treating patients age 13 and older. His school and training includes, the University of Florida, the University of Miami, and Hahemann/Penn University Hospitals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Moreno treats a variety of spine disorders with techniques such as microdiscectomy, scoliosis correction, cervical total disc replacement, and complex revision spinal procedures in adults and adolescents. He operates exclusively at Mease Countryside Hospital where he developed the spine surgery program and serves as section chief of the spine department. He has authored several peer reviewed articles and formed the Global Scoliosis Foundation, which has treated patients with complex spinal deformities from countries such as Ethiopia, Moldova, Belize and the Philippines. He has also done charity and consulting work for Shriners Hospitals in Tampa, Florida. He recently has been appointed to serve as Chairman of the BayCare spine section of the Neuroscience Department. Dr. Moreno is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society and affiliated with Mease Countryside Hospital.
