I was disappointed when my Dr retired since he was my PCP for 25+ years. I wanted to stay with the BayCare Van Dyke office as it is very well run. After researching the other doctors at this location, I selected Dr. Barnes and this seems to be a great choice!

I objected to the statin prescribed since I have had adverse reactions to them in the past. My objection was disregarded and I was prescribed one.

She referred me to another specialist to check out a condition that I was unaware of until my visit with her.

I appreciate that Dr. Barnes takes the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions and respect me as an inquiring patient since Ive worked many years in the medical arena. I also appreciate that Dr. Barnes does make time, as able, to fit in patients who arent feeling well without the office pushing patients office to an urgent care center. I prefer to see the provider who knows me best Re: my medical history and who I am as a patient.

I was happy with my former doctor, but I am going to the same place. He was at and now I have reservations about going there. At this point, I am not pleased.

My previous physician did an exam as well as an interview. Dr. Barnes does a great job with reviewing meds, immunizations, mammograms and other appointments, but does not do an exam. Is this standard

Dr Barnes has always been friendly and informative. She takes the time to explain everything in great detail, which I appreciate.

I had a good first conversation with Dr. Barnes. She asked questions about my medical history and made recommendations. I came with a written list of questions and she made sure each one of them had been addressed. When I told Dr. Barnes that sumatriptan was no longer working for me, she wrote a script for a new migraine med (Nurtec) stating that it was pricey. When I asked the price, she said she didnt know. (My prior Dr would have looked up the price on GoodRX or UHCs website. Nurtec ended up being $329 for 8 pills so I cancelled the script at CVS. Since I havent had a migraine In 9 months, I wanted to shop around for a better price and didnt want to throw this expensive script away in a year.

Provider was not prepared. It was obvious she did not review my history. It was a new patient visit my records were in chart however provider ask why I was on 3 of my most important medications. She also said she didnt have the time to review my records because they were so extensive. She wanted me to tell her because she was on a schedule.

I moved to Brooksville a few years ago and I still drive to Lutz to see Dr. Barnes. Best primary I have ever had.

Dr. Barnes was a pleasure to work with. I was a little anxious that I wouldnt be comfortable with a new physician. Dr. Barnes took away that anxiety with her calm, efficient demeanor.

Dr. Barnes was very proactive with my health. At 72 years old and on Medicare, her proactive approach and care and concern are refreshing and appreciated.

I must say Dr was well prepared for me! She was familiar with my hospital records obtained via portal and even had obtained hospital labs that hadnt been available at time of my discharge.

Dr Barnes is extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She calmly addresses each issue while allowing me to ask questions and discuss solutions. She did not rush the appointment and made sure everything was covered before I left.

Dr. Barnes and her staff are very responsive to messages/questions about care that I send through the patient portal. All responses are the same day and sometimes are in a matter of minutes. This is an excellent level of care!

She listened, checked me and care about me.

Dr. Barnes insist on calling me old, and that Im getting older, maybe she should just see younger patients.

Dr. Barnes was polite. I told her my symptoms, she looked in my ears and mouth and said its viral and to let it run its course. I told her I had already been sick for nearly 10 days. She said theres no timeframe for things like this. She also offered no antibiotics or cough expectorant. I completely understand a virus is not curable by antibiotics, and I also understand not wanting to over prescribe antibiotics. However, when someone has been sick for 10 days and the electronic medical record clearly shows I havent been on antibiotics at all for the last couple of years, what possible harm could come from a prescription of amoxicillin or similarI let her know I was not happy with her decision. She said she wasnt holding out on me or something to that affect, but again - - I feel like she holds the overall decision to whether or not it truly is a virus or bacterial infection. So whats the harm If I was a patient that was constantly sick and periodically on antibiotics, I can understand her judgement. But I let her know that this illness wasnt normal for me at all. She wouldnt budge. I felt like I wasted my time in the office, along with my copayment.Next time Ill go somewhere else.

Dr. Allison Barnes needs to find empathy with her bedside manner. Im switching providers because Ive been with her for a while and every time that I see her she doesnt listen to what I have to say.

I did not feel she did a through exam did not look in my ears or eyes nose mouth Thats what I considered did not take clothes off did not look at my skin or extremities!

My only concern is the doctor does not do an exam, she never listens to my heart or checks any part of my body. She talks about my medication and blood work , also my test results but thats it. I remember three words and draw a clock but never and exam. Every other doctor I have at least checks my heart. Have they changed what a yearly check up means
